SELF-ESTEEM

First it is important to understand the exact meaning of ‘Self-Esteem'.

The Oxford English Dictionary definition is:
"One's good opinion of one-self."
Many people, and the psychology profession wouldn't be able to survive
without them, use the process of improving SELF-ESTEEM as an important
step to the development of feeling good about one-self again.

This pathway back to a ‘good sense of worth' may not be achieved with
improving your self esteem alone, but we can assure you that you will
have been elevated sufficiently to see what's required next.
Positive affirmations are words that offer power to the subconscious
mind … please read on.
We all have moments each year, each month, each week, each day and each
hour where we may have sensed a period of sadness.
It could have been a series of bad events.

Whatever happens to you may never happen to anyone else;

Negativity is a sore point for any individual, so we need to develop a
process of rising through these periods of confusion, and these are
best defeated with us in a stronger frame of mind.

Building self esteem is not just about thinking good of yourself, it's
about not thinking bad for no reason!
Notice the small differences as they happen. Persevere and don't expect
everything at once. Beating low self esteem is a wonderful thing, and
it's much easier than you'd imagine.

"The way you overcome shyness is to become so wrapped up in something
that you forget to be afraid." (Lady Bird Johnson).

'looking down make you down' Daniel.

Many times in our lives, we get dropped, crumpled, and ground into the
dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way.
We feel as though we are worthless.
But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never
lose your value.
Dirty or clean
Crumpled or creased,
you are still priceless to this life.

Positive affirmations are words that offer power to the subconscious
mind.
Try speak good word to your self, and never forget the bible will be of good help.

NB: The best is yet to come out of you, Give it a try!

Teach Teens the word of GOD.

Q. What's the right age to start giving a Bible quiz to my child?
A. The moment that she or he is able to recognize pictures or symbols. It's never too soon to start teaching a child about God, and a Bible quiz is an outstanding way to do it.

When most people think of a quiz they think of a series of written questions and multiple choice answers.
While that may be the way most quizzes work, there's no law that says it's the only way. And even if there is such a law, I, the Great Quizmaster, hereby decree that such law is rescinded!

Even if a child cannot read, they are able to identify pictures, shapes, and colors very early. They also learn to listen, and reason, long before they even learn to talk. With this in mind, you can design a Bible quiz that appeals to any age group.
Hey, why focus on just children? Anyone of any age will surely benefit from a Bible quiz.

The easiest way to design a Bible quiz for small children is to tie it in to an age appropriate Bible story. You can find pictures and drawings on the Internet that match concepts that were explained in the story. Print the pictures and paste them to a piece of paper. Then ask your child questions and have them point to the picture that corresponds to the question.

As the child gets older you can replace the picture quiz with a standard Bible quiz that has questions which are appropriate for the child's reading level.
If you want to design a bible quiz for older children or adults, then you need a whole different type of Bible quiz.
Rather than designing a quiz that forces them to remember specific Bible passages, you might find that it is easier to keep their attention if you focus on conceptual Bible issues. For example, you may want to ask what the significance of Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey was. This enables you to design a bible quiz that tests the quiz taker's understanding of the Bible rather than their ability to memorize passages that they may not understand.

If you find that you have a knack for creating a good Bible quiz, you might want to ask your Pastor or Priest if you can have the Bible quiz posted on the Church's web site or printed in the weekly bulletin.
People love quizzes and a Bible quiz is a wonderful way to entertain and bring the love and power of God into someone's life.
The Bible says "God's Word never returns to Him void but accomplishes that where unto it was sent". With that in mind, who knows what will be accomplished when you send a Bible quiz out in God's name.
i love but GOD does better.

The most important skill a child will ever learn

The most important skill a child will ever learn

Reading is the most important skill a child will ever learn.
By developing an interest in reading, and thereby developing the desire to learn to read, you will be giving your child the gift to all knowledge. A child who loves to read and reads well can learn ANYTHING!

The interest in reading is developed at a young age. Make time to read bedtime stores. Make time at other time of the day, if possible, to sit and read to your child. Simple, easy to understand children's books with colorful pictures as best for the youngest children.
Not only can you point to the words you are reading as you read, but you can help the child learn recognition of objects and colors by interacting during the reading of the book.

Point to the picture of a dog and tell the child, "This is a dog. The dog is black". After a few times of doing this, point to the dog and ask the child what that picture is and what colour the animal is.
Every soon, after grasping language skills, the child will not wait for questions, but tell you "that dog is black!"

Select books that teach a lesson about life. Books that teach children how to interact with other children without fighting; books that teach about giving or sharing, are good selections. Books that teach about responsibilities - how to cross the street, never to get in a stranger's car, never to steal, and so one - are also great choices.

Children's classics are excellent choices and may well become family heirlooms that you child will read to their child years down the road. You will soon develop a child that can't wait to learn to read.

kids and gang influence

There are many reasons why younsters--and that includes boys and an increasing number of girls--join gangs.
When you see your child falling under this unwelcome gang influence, here are some essential steps:

1) Communicate, communicate, communicate. You cannot over-communicate. Open the door, and make sure it stays open. Be a constant positive force in your child's life

2) Positive reinforcement. Most kids are good kids, they just get troubled and lose their way. Leave him with tape-recorder running inside his head, that he can't turn off. Tell him that he's a good kid; to hang on in there. that you love him and believe in him, over and over and over. Give him the "tools" he needs to find his own way home. You will need to discipline him, but always stress the positive.

3) Find a mentor. If your child's father can't be that mentor, then look for a strong male friend, or relative or even a volunteer from a mentoring organization. Get him involved in organizations, sports clubs, social clubs or church groups, places he can find support and strong peer support, as well as a 'coach' or male role model.

4) pray with your child and let him or her know the GOD factor in his or her life this will help fast.

Kids join gangs for any number of complex reasons. Before you condemn him, try to better understand what's driving your child down this path.
